Foreign Resident Capital Gains Withholding

Australian resident vendors should complete and lodge a capital gains withholding clearance certificate application as early as practical as it can take 28 days to process. Bliss Conveyancing can obtain this certificate on your behalf at a cost of $50 per vendor. Bliss Conveyancing will need to provide the purchaser with an ATO issued clearance certificate on or before the day of settlement to ensure the purchaser does not withhold 12.5% of the purchase price for property over $750,000. Each vendor must lodge their own application. Vendors who are parties to the same property transaction are not able to lodge joint applications.
